Jane is a middle and high school English and history teacher from upstate New York. She did her undergraduate studies at Gettysburg College and graduate school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, getting a very definitely useful degree in early medieval poetry.
Despite that, Jane does teach more recent literature and history, and in particular loves teaching seemingly daunting subjects like American government and economics, especially in today’s world! She tries to make a passionate, student-centric classroom, believing that students always have the ability to learn a subject even if at first it seems too big, too hard, or too boring.
When not teaching, Jane can be found going to readings around New York City, traveling to see friends, and volunteering on behalf of carceral reform or climate action.
