Dr. Mindy Hong has more than 30 years of experience in education as a teacher, administrator, and head of school. Mindy studied English Literature at Barnard College, Columbia University and was pursuing her graduate degree at New York University when she discovered her true passion – teaching. She received a Masters degree from Harvard University and worked in many public and private schools to support innovation in curriculum and pedagogy. She currently holds a teaching appointment at the Honors College, College of Charleston.
As the former Head of an international school in England, Mindy’s leadership experience spans from the global to the local. She is excited to partner with ICL Foundation and ICL Academy to explore the flexible modalities and innovations of online learning. Mindy’s doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania explores how cognitive measures of attention, memory, and well-being impact academic success. She sees blended and online learning as a path to academic achievement and success and is thus committed to making ICL’s transformative virtual experience accessible to as many students and families as possible.
